MERCEDES: Tonight is going to be a great show, Phoenix Quagliaterre is stopping by and she’s spilling all the tea. But before we jump into the interview I just wanted to say that I am blessed to be able to come out here every week and give you all a great show. When it was brought to me about doing The Mercedes Show again, at first I declined but after thinking about it for a while, I decided why not?

MERCEDES: And I’m grateful to have all the guests that have appeared on the show and the ones who are appearing on the show, so again Thank you.

MERCEDES: But back to tonight’s show, I hope your all ready for tonight’s guest because I know I am. So please give our guest a warm welcome, everyone PHOENIX QUAGLIATERRE.


(Phoenix Quagliaterre backstage)

Those piercing emerald eyes glance around as Phoenix makes her arrival, beaming with a bright smile at the applauding and cheering crowd as she makes her way over to Mercedes to greet her with a hug before the Firebird finally takes her seat and gets comfortable.

MERCEDES: Ms. Quagliaterre, we finally got you on the show. What is going on?

PHOENIX: Oh the usual…. Hopping jets more than Carmen Sandiego on my busy flow, just living life and trying to enjoy it

MERCEDES: You look beautiful.

Forever a lover of compliments, Phoenix’s bright smile seems to grow even more as she appreciates the sweet words.

PHOENIX: Why thank you, you do as well! But to be fair, when don’t you look absolutely stunning.

Mercedes smiles, blowing a kiss at Phoenix

MERCEDES: I mean after having babies, going up and down in weight, the hits you take in the ring but yet you can still walk out here and look flawless.

PHOENIX: Oh my goodness, TELL ME about it! I was really beginning to gain alot of weight a few weeks back with getting alot thicker. I mean, it was in the right places but my manager who is also my trainer, ended up switching my diet completely around so that I ended up slimming back down some.

MERCEDES: First and foremost how are the kids? In case our audience doesn’t know, how many? The names? And what’s been going on with them?

PHOENIX: They are doing just marvelous, I told them I was going to be on tv doing an interview and my seven year old twins gave me a look as if to say, ‘Mom… when arent you on tv.’

Phoenix chuckles lightly as her eyes shine from thinking about her children.

PHOENIX: Okay so as most may know, I adopted three children and actually got pregnant for the first time last year. My oldest, Sindaya… i adopted her i believe the winter of 2015 but I have known her all of her life. She is actually my good friend Siren’s little sister but the reason I adopted her was because she needed to be in a better environment than she was and at the time, Siren was unable to take her so i stepped up and adopted her. She is currently eighteen years of age, a graduate of Marlborough High School’s class of 2017 and currently a Freshman at UCLA.

She pauses as her smile stretches across her face, that twinkle in her eyes showing how much love she has for her kids as she resumes.

PHOENIX: She’s slowed down on the modeling and music making for the moment as i encourage her to really knuckle down on her studies and give college her all. I adopted my seven year old twin daughters a while after her, Cheri and Celina. I want to say this though about those three… is that even though they are not my biological children, I both raise and claim them as if they have my blood pumping through them. I have to say they are my adoptive children to clarify things to the public especially with how old Sindaya is. To me, they are mine and they look to me as if I have given birth to them. There is nothing on earth that I wouldn’t do for my children. Now the fourth child, AJ, I had him last year and we just celebrated his first birthday last month.

The audience begins to applaud which causes Phoenix to pause with a smile for a moment.

PHOENIX: It’s so amazing that he has my eyes, it’s like looking at myself everytime I look at him. He said mama for the first time last week and that was one of the sweetest moments of my life. It’s amazing how emotional i get over my kids especially since it takes me alot to even get to that point.

MERCEDES: WOW, I’m sure you’re very proud of all your kids.

PHOENIX: Extremely, especially with how tough this year has been for all of us. But they have managed to pull together to stay strong and try to hope for the best while also remembering that our family has such a strong positive, support system so that always helps.

MERCEDES: Do you plan on having anymore?

PHOENIX: Maybe one more in the way future… but you never know. I was extremely surprised when Alessandro had knocked me up especially since I hadn’t been a virgin for about two weeks when I came up pregnant last year. But the next one I will make sure is very planned out and I want to make sure that I am settled down in a relationship as well once that happens.

MERCEDES: So I know before you were married to Alessandro and you guys kind of had a messy divorce? Can you tell us what happened with that whole situation?

PHOENIX: Well unfortunately… we are not divorced. We had our day in court and the judge ruled in his favor, which is very suspect to me. Alessandro has a habit of paying off people to get his way so I feel that he did that with the judge, who miraculously retired and I found out randomly bought a yacht as well. We were supposed to move in together to cohabitate to six months but thankfully I was able to get that term of our agreement retracted. We are supposed to be enrolled in marriage counseling but that term is also being worked on…. And well the third term is that the divorce is not granted and we are to stay married for the time being.

MERCEDES: Do you still love him?

Phoenix goes silent momentarily.

PHOENIX: I mean… I have love for him but I fell out of love with him because of his selfishness and his ability to be a husband and a father. I do fault myself because I feel as if maybe I allowed us to get married when he was at an age where he shouldn’t have been getting married. Plus I was his first love, his first relationship so maybe we should have taken things much slower and waited it out but i think we were so in love with each other that when he proposed in the center of that ring, I had to say yes because I really did want to marry him. We eloped and was married a day later… but i felt that i should have maybe allowed him more time to be my boyfriend before allowing him to become my husband, I honestly think that’s where we went wrong at… and i can not completely fault him for that. I can, however, fault him for him wanting to get me pregnant then him being in and out with being consumed with work during my pregnancy to the point other people had to step in and take care of me. Think the last straw was after he got cleared to go back to work from being out on injury after AJ was born, it was like he basically disappeared from our lives and we didnt see him again unless we cut on the tv to watch him wrestle. He didnt return our calls…. Nothing. He was completely gone and I was left with the pieces to pick up as the twin constantly asked me when was daddy coming home and was daddy dead. Then I felt he thought i could just forgive and forget so easily when he came back and he went from playing nice to trying to completely sabotage me moving on.

MERCEDES: Well don’t be like me and go backwards honey because there were a few times i took a step back and ended up hurt all over again. The sex wasn’t that great!

Mercedes laughs as the crowd cheers.

MERCEDES: I better take that back before I offend someone. Anyway, How is Xavier? I know that must be difficult to deal with.

Phoenix looks down for a moment before slowly looking back up.

PHOENIX: He’s… definitely making progress finally. He is still comatose, unfortunately but it was a celebration when he was able to finally breathe on his own without needing a machine to assist him. He could wake up any day and that is something we have been waiting and wishing on.

MERCEDES: Are you two still engaged?

PHOENIX: Unfortunately no… Due to Alessandro’s craziness, i thought it would be safer if I just ended the relationship. Xavier is in a coma but yet Alessandro was still targeting him…

A brief pause as Phoenix grows silent for a moment as Mercedes notices and gives a sympathetic look.

MERCEDES: I know it’s a very tough topic and if you don’t want to discuss it then we don’t have to. I just know you really haven’t talked about it since it happened and I know holding all that in can probably drive a person crazy.

PHOENIX: No it’s fine… I feel i really need to say this now and get this off my chest so people can know the real instead of running around with their assumptions. Alot of people have gotten upset with me after I have verbally dragged them and said I just left Xavier to rot in a hospital bed when in reality, I was giving up about three days a week and sometimes even four to be there at that hospital back and forth to sit there by his bedside, even sleep there overnight. I was the one who was and still is covering his hospital bills. Alessandro’s actions last month against my manager had Xavier’s family so worried that Alessandro would come after Xavier and pull the plug on him during the time he was still needing the machine to breathe that I had to spend hours calming down his twin brother before I made some decisions. The first decision was to get Xavier transferred from the hospital immediately and transitioned closer to the Laroux family. The other decision was to break off the engagement because if Alessandro was still targeting him since I was engaged to him even after he’s in a coma, i knew that there would no longer be a reason to try to hurt Xavier especially when he is already not conscious to the world. I did what I did to protect someone and their family because i care about all of them truly. Before the attack and the coma, Xavier and I were having issues and it was public knowledge from all of the fights we were getting into out in the open. One of our last conversations before that tragic night was that we were best friends first and that we both refused to have that ruined. We both would rather be best friends then nothing at all and we promised one another that if it got really bad, that we had to end the relationship and repair any damages between us and that if it was meant to be that we would give it another shot. Everyone isnt meant to be together no matter how hard you try to push it. But that’s everything on that situation in its entirety.

MERCEDES: That’s really tough to deal with Phoenix, you are a strong woman and I salute you.

MERCEDES: A few weeks ago a photo popped up on TMZ of you leaving a therapy session, can you tell us a little about that?

PHOENIX: Yes, I am seriously enrolled into anger management even though a lot of my fans and the public believe me to be joking about that due to my great sense of humor. My anger was getting out of control especially dealing with Alessandro, who was beginning to piss me off more and more to the point i felt I was going to explode and just put hands on him. I thought this route was the best for me to take to keep myself together and level-headed.

MERCEDES: I’ve done therapy before and trust me when I say this but that helps a lot. It’s nice to talk to people who don’t know you, because it seems like the advice they give you is REAL. Not saying your friends or family won’t give you real advice but sometimes it’s better to come from a complete stranger.

PHOENIX: I agree wholeheartedly. In therapy, i know that I wont get coddled. I know that it would probably be easier to say things that is hard to say to someone that I love especially with me not being in that great state of mind to due so.

MERCEDES: I know it’s probably hard to deal with especially since the guy who is responsible for your fiancée’s situation is your soon to be ex husband.

PHOENIX: Yes it is a bit problematic and a bit much, to be honest because it’s like…. Why not just accept how things are? Why not just give me the divorce and allow me to move on without the worry of you attacking someone and trying to kill them?

MERCEDES: Are you angry with Alessandro?

PHOENIX: Not as much as I had been before. It’s like when it comes to him, things are to be expected to the point it’s become normalized. I expect him to speak about me publicly so that he can get his moments of attention and people remember that he exists and why. He has to try to get under my skin so that he can tell himself that I get riled up because I still love him.


MERCEDES: Girl you are strong, but let’s switch gears here. So wrestling huh?

Mercedes smiles.

MERCEDES: You’ve been out the game so long, i mean why come out of retirement now? Especially with all the drama going on.

PHOENIX: It’s a funny story about that actually…

She laughs as she remembers the day clearly in her mind.

PHOENIX: Okay so back when F’n Awesome Wrestling existed before it became VPW, the then Hardcore Champion, Cass Baumer, was holding a Baumer Invitational Hardcore Tournament that whoever won it, faced her for her belt. At the time, Xavier and I were really good and going strong. He tell me everything and had told me that Cass had tried to I guess, ask him out? I got pissed because Xavier and I were pretty much all the way out there in the open, especially with him openly flirting with him. Hell while he and Cass’ best friend were dating, he was seeing me and he was openly pursuing me until that relationship ended and he was free to really pursue me. So i felt she was stepping into my territory trying to go at my man and i am extremely selfish when it comes to my men, okay?

Phoenix flips her long hair over her shoulders before giving the audience a comical, playful look that has them roaring in laughter.

PHOENIX: So my petty ass came out of retirement and entered the tournament so I could not only win it but face off against her. But during the middle of the tournament, she ended up losing her title to someone else. At that point, i wanted to win the tournament and then face the Champion to win the title so that I could not only prove that I still had it but to make my fans and loved ones proud, in which i did to both.

MERCEDES: Vengeance Pro is where you call home and from what I hear your the longest reigning champion there, I mean girl that’s great.

PHOENIX: Walked into the company with a title like a real boss bitch too.

MERCEDES: I remember when I was snatching wigs and titles, that was always a great feeling to me.

PHOENIX: I honestly never realized I missed being in the ring until my return match, which happened to be the first match in the tournament, then getting that adrenaline rushing throughout me like old times.

MERCEDES: But girl you had a lot going on too, If we were to pull up your resume that list is long.

Mercedes pulls a piece of paper out of her pocket.

MERCEDES: I had to write all this down because baby in the words of Chanel Snow, You are BOOKED.

The audience claps.

MERCEDES: You’re Investor and BOD of SAP, You’re head of wardrobe design over at HKW, you’re also a developmental coach for FFW’s Future Shock, you have the growing Quagliaterre Inc business that is just booming with products, clients and whatever else you got cooking under that empire. And let’s not forget you are a single mother, so why take on so much responsibility?

PHOENIX: Well.. It started with my retirement. Alessandro’s is a billionaire, yes but I didnt want to be a kept woman in terms of some socialite, housewife. I have always earned things on my own and i felt i would go crazy with just sitting at home inside a huge house… so then i decided to started up Quagliaterre Inc. At first, i had family and loved ones to help get it going and used them as models as well as signed them to the music labels within the company. When the company got big enough and people are started pouring in wanting to sign, it’s when I opened it up to the public and thats how it begin to take off even more. With SAP, it started out indy and the founder, Ty, is one of my closest friends and came to me wanting me to give him a hand. So i begin to invest into the company and was pretty behind the scenes and off the radar with it in the beginning. Then I am really good friends with FFW’s Future Shock Director, Adam Grant and signed on to be a developmental coach so that I could help out. The HKW job was the last one i took within another company and being able to show off my ring gear designs is definitely an enjoyable experience. I love to stay busy, it actually keeps my mind going and focused and i always want to be able to provide for my children on my own. Sure I have access to Alessandro’s money but i want to feed and clothe my children with money that comes from me. I want to give them the world and if it means to put all of my talents and skills to work to ensure them the great life that i can continue to maintain for them then i will continue busting sweat for them.

MERCEDES: But isn’t there a time where you sit back and say, damn I need a break.

PHOENIX: If i schedule things properly and organize my time, i am able to get some relaxation and spend alot of time with my children. I feel that organization is our friend when it comes to trying to live our life and as long as you correctly utilize your time then anything can be achieved. Like for example, me playing for the Sin City Sabres on Fridays for the LFL, i combine training for that when i train for wrestling with hitting the gym. I have my own gym at my estate where my trainer can beat my ass to his leisure then i go upstairs, rest and soak for a bit then get my time in with my children. On weekends, i work on the ring gear if new orders come in and sometimes do emergency take ins during the week if its really needed.

MERCEDES: You are a fashionista, the hairstyles and the looks are always on point. So I can see why you are head of the wardrobe, how does that work though? Do the wrestlers come to you with ideas for attire or do you just come up with stuff and present it to them and then go from there?

PHOENIX: They usually come with me with ideas on what they want and we brainstorm together as far as design, what type of material they want and range of colors if they want the ring gear to be designed the same way in different colors. They know to come to me like a few weeks ahead of time if they want new ring gear so that i can start ordering everything that is needed and getting to work on it during the days where i personally set time aside to work on ring gear. Everyone is very good with coming to me before hand so everything gets done right on time with no issues.

MERCEDES: I can’t forget acting too, rumor is you’ve been looking at a few scripts and we did just see you on MIL Network show #theLIFEATL, have you thought about doing reality TV? With your businesses and you do have a huge family, that would be a great platform to promote and to also let people into your life and get to know the real Phoenix Quagliaterre.

PHOENIX: I have had a few scripts fall into my lap and I have been seriously contemplating if i should get into acting if i can squeeze it into my schedule but that might be something i do way into the future. As far as reality television, i have done it before when i was one of the top stars in a divas reality show back in 2015 that centered around me and other EWE’s divas. It was during my time where Alessandro and I were in limbo trying to actually be together to the cameras caught all of that. As far as reality tv, if i had enough time to do it full time I definitely would. I love serving people the real and i have no filter when it comes down to it.

MERCEDES: I also noticed that you were managing a few clients too, is that something you plan on doing for a while or is it like a special occasion type of deal and if you do decide to continue managing, what are some of the qualities you look for when you manage wrestlers?

PHOENIX: It was something I wanted to see if I could do and have been extremely good at. I plan on continuing to do it because I do enjoy it with helping and hyping someone for their match as well as making sure things are well taken care of for them. As far as qualities, I prefer to represent savages. People who are no nonsense, have a backbone and dont take shit from anyone. I mean look at me for example, I will go at anyone and I cant be managing someone who is a pussy and afraid of their shadow.

MERCEDES: That’s great and to be honest if you were managing me, I would feel secure because a lot of people don’t mess with you but then again a lot of people don’t mess with me either.

PHOENIX: Damn right, people know that if they come for us, they better know how to handle theirs.

MERCEDES: And That is why they call you a Queen, we’re all Queens in my book, we all bring something to the table and that’s another thing I like about you because your humble and you don’t mind helping others.

MERCEDES: Now this is where I named this week’s HATER OF THE WEEK and this week he deserves it. As I was catching up on my shows, I was able to check out Married to Medicine and baby the drama on there is outrageous. But Curtis Walters you definitely caught my attention.



MERCEDES: If you haven’t been watching the show then let me catch you up. Jackie Is married to Curtis and right now she is going through a divorce with him because of infidelity in the marriage. From a woman who has experience that I know she is going through a tough time and I hope she gets through it. I just don’t condone the whole cheating thing and to spend that long together and decide to step out is a huge No for me. Now I may not know Jackie personally but I feel her pain and that is why I decided to make her husband the HATER OF THE WEEK.

Mercedes looks back at Phoenix.

MERCEDES: How would you handle that? Being married 10+ years and your husband stepping out on you because he felt like you weren’t paying attention to him at home?

PHOENIX: I honestly feel that is a cop out because a lot of people love to blame the spouse for their cheating when they never even thought to reach out to them to put it out there on the table about how they are feeling. It’s hard to fix things if the spouse doesn’t even know what the issue is or if they do, then maybe they are afraid to tackle the issue head on. I feel a great lack of communication played a part in this.

MERCEDES: Everyone handles certain situations differently, I don’t judge. Some people can work through it, some can’t.

PHOENIX: Communication is the key with me or maybe he was just greedy. Selfish guys blame the spouse for their issues even if the victim spouse did nothing wrong.

MERCEDES: Just sitting here talking with you, you seem very laid back. I was hesitant to do this interview because people talk and alot of that talk was you weren’t really friendly.

PHOENIX: I just believe that I am brutally honest and alot of people can’t take it. I can admit that i was alot worse back then than how i am now but alot of my snapping off comes from me being provoked, honestly.

MERCEDES: And to be honest we don’t see you surround yourself around a lot of people, from the looks of it, it’s mostly family and maybe a few friends. And that’s not a bad thing because sometimes it’s not always good to have a lot of people around you but who would you say is like your close circle, which doesnt include family?

PHOENIX: I actually was a lot nicer back then and had my kindness taken for weakness so I had to go back to not being as trustworthy and being guarded. My close circle that I am in constant contact with and talk to regularly I would have to say consists of Marquis, Kimitsu, Genie, Eli, Bryan, Tommy, Alejandra, Caleb, Tara, Ty, Fujiko and Xena.

MERCEDES: Keep That circle tight honey, there’s nothing wrong with that. Now we do have a few fan questions and I want to get to those. First question comes from Tony in West Virginia and he asks “Phoenix, how is it dating KPop Star Park Jimin?

Mercedes pauses, looks down at the question and back to Phoenix as she begins to laugh and smile, her face slightly blushing as the audience explodes with screams over that.

MERCEDES: Whoa wait? I’m confused. Your dating Park Jimin? When did this come about or is that another rumor?

PHOENIX: Well…. It’s no secret that I am one of his biggest fans and that he is my favorite KPop idol as well as my ultimate bias. I met him at one of my LFL games on his birthday actually when Caleb arranged for him to come to the game and surprise me. Prior to that, me and one of the BTS managers had been playing phone tag with always missing one another especially with them traveling to countries that is like thirteen hours before us so when I’d be sleep, they’d be up and vice versa. I ended up getting his snapchat and we kept in touch through that. We started snapping each other alot and then it upgraded to texting when he asked for my number. Then it upgraded to Facetiming one another….

Phoenix pauses to take a sip of her water as the audience starts cheering at how Phoenix is trying to find the words to explain all of this.

PHOENIX: Then next thing I know… like I wanna say two weeks later, they are given the opportunity to make their debut performing for an american show when being slotted to perform at the American Music Awards. Marquis, of course, says that it was all my doing with being so public about BTS and my fans getting into it with also pushing and promoting BTS. I had non Kpop fans of mine beginning to listen to BTS and wanting to keep up with me especially since I always do the Korean heart finger gestures. I actually put in to not wrestle that Sunday of the AMAs since I was attending and then a week later, it was off to Mama…. The Mnet Asian Music Awards in which they actually had a whole week of it in different countries. Me flying all the way across seas to support them really had everyone doing the whole, ‘omg are they dating or arent they’ talk when it came to Jimin and I. I of course dont help when I’m referring to him as my boyfriend on social media and publicly. So now it’s time to put it out there if we are dating or not…

The audience anxiously awaits her answer as she dramatically pauses to build up curiosity and anticipation for the answer.

PHOENIX: No…. no we are not dating-

The females in the crowd give disappointed awwws while the males cheer and holler with satisfaction over the single Phoenix.

PHOENIX: Now don’t get me wrong… he’s beautiful… so very beautiful and exceptionally talented. Most may think that the language barrier may be one of the reasons but that isnt it at all. Me and him are really close friends and you never know what the future may hold. Also, I didnt want to upset Army because if I heard Jimin was dating someone and I was one of these girls, I would feel a type of way. It’s so many different reasons but know that he isnt the issue, he is perfect. I treasure my friendship with him greatly and would never want to mess that up.

MERCEDES: Girl, the streets are talking! Ha next question comes from Tynecia in Chicago and she writes “Phoenix have you ever dipped in the lady pond?” Oh girl I think someone has a crush on you.

PHOENIX: I mean I am no stranger to kissing females and yeaaaaars back when I was, i want to say 20? I had this huge ego in the wrestling company I was in and was extremely popular. I was knowing for flirting with the hall of famers and even having straight girls questioning their sexuality. I was pretty wild back then, back in my party girl stage and my ego was so big that I created something I dubbed the Midas Touch that if i kissed you before your match, i guaranteed that you were going to win. And surprisingly, anyone who came to me backstage before their match for a kiss ended up winning that night. And it was mostly alot of female acquaintances who came to me too because alot of the males were intimidated of me.

The audience laughs with amusement at that.

MERCEDES: Billy from Oklahoma wants to know if you plan on doing anymore music?

PHOENIX: I think if something comes to me then I might work on something and get back into the studio. Usually now, if i am hit with writing inspiration for a song, i try to get things written down to see if i can follow up on it and see if it can be a song. Or usually Riley comes to me with something big and pulls me into the studio so we can get creative.

MERCEDES: Leslie from New Jersey wants to know if you are single or do you plan on waiting if Xavier will wake up from his coma?

PHOENIX: Well… the initial idea was to wait but after Alessandro was talking about flying to Rhode Island and pulling plugs…

Phoenix rolled her eyes at the annoyance of Alessandro.

PHOENIX: Coupled up with Xavier’s family tripping out and panicking that they were in danger and that Xavier was just a sitting duck in that hospital and could be taken out so easily, i decided for the sake of his family to end the relationship to protect him. I cant say that I blame them for being shook or worried because Alessandro paid off security guards that were supposed to escort him out the building so that he could attack Xavier a second time while he was being loaded into the ambulance. So who is to say that the security I had stationed outside his hospital room werent secretly on Alessandro’s payroll? Xavier’s family could only get the police involved so much until they realized that the police didnt seem to care or felt there wasnt enough evidence. So yes I am currently single right now and I feel I can not really be in a relationship until I am one hundred percent divorced from Alessandro since he seems to be bad luck on me starting anew with someone. When Xavier wakes up? We’ll see.

MERCEDES: That must be difficult to deal with honestly, i mean do you think people will think of you a certain way if you do decide to date?

PHOENIX: Not really, i guess because people know at this point that ‘Yeah Phe gonna do whatever she wants anyways, so’, you know? Guy have been pursuing me left and right after finding out I had to end it with Xavier due to Alessandro’ craziness and they dont seem to be bothered or concerned about Alessandro trying anything with them.

MERCEDES: Sheree from Atlanta, wait I wonder if this is Sheree from Atlanta housewives?

Mercedes chuckles

MERCEDES: Anyway Sheree wants to know what you look for in a man, I mean I don’t know why she would want to know that, maybe she has a single brother for you or something.

PHOENIX: One thing I have to say is I can not date a weak man. Like, don’t let me walk all over you like a doormat, that’s how it was with Alessandro and I. I wore the pants in the relationship and he did exactly what I said. I was actually content with it, I mean you get used to it but then I met the guy I dated after him and the way he exhibited all of this power and control really drew me in. Then Xavier came about and he tried to enforce being the man in the relationship, which was actually great. Look here, if you’re going to date me? You need to be the man in the relationship, okay? And it wouldn’t hurt to look so good that a bitch gets stuck in a trance just staring at you. Be intelligent, be yourself and most importantly, you have to love kids of course and I mean in a ‘I want to be a father’ way, not no fucking pedo way.
