The scene opens with Hadi driving around Downtown Atlanta.
Confessional Cam
HADRIAN ALI:
So I’ve been thinking a lot about last night and that party. I did what I was supposed to, but most of that work came from Jasmine. She knows how to play the game well, but I know that she’s at that point where she knows that I’m man enough to handle it on my own, but still show some support. To be quite honest, I’ve been a lot more thankful of Jasmine boosting my career instead of myself handling it. There comes a point where in order for me to accomplish my goal, I’ll have to handle much of this on my own, while Jasmine takes my load off of her shoulders and she gets to work on her wrestling career.
The scene cuts back to Hadi getting a phone call, which he answers.
HADRIAN ALI: Hey, wassup!
The woman’s voice can he heard through the speakers.
MORGAN DAVIS: Hey, Hadi!
HADRIAN ALI: Hey, wassup, Mo! You gotta cancel again? *Laughs*
MORGAN DAVIS: Boy, no! I just called to say that first, I have to apologize for what happened yesterday at your job. I'll admit that it was uncalled for.
HADRIAN ALI: Nah, it's cool. I had to speak to the manager about everything. He just gave me a warning and sh-*beep*.
MORGAN DAVIS: Okay, thank God. Secondly, I called to see how the party went.
HADRIAN ALI: You heard about the fight didn't you?
MORGAN DAVIS: Now, you know I did. Amber told me. Her brother was there.
HADRIAN ALI: Oh word?
MORGAN DAVIS: Yeah. he was there. She told me that somebody he kept referring to as JCPenney, the host of the party, kept talking about him in public and Jaser just went to confront her.
HADRIAN ALI: Damn, that's crazy.
MORGAN DAVIS: But yeah, you told me before that you were invited to the party, so of course I had to get the scoop from you.
HADRIAN ALI: I don't know much. All I know about is drinks flying and security coming in. That's it.
MORGAN DAVIS: Oh, damn. Okay. Guess I'll have to find out from someone else then. Don’t want to intrude on you getting your business on. I’ll talk to you later.
HADRIAN ALI: Oh, it's like that? Well….Ay, Mo!
MORGAN DAVIS: Yeah..
HADRIAN ALI: There's something I need to ask you.
MORGAN DAVIS:
HADRIAN ALI: You think this was a good decision. Reaching out to a different audience?
MORGAN DAVIS: You mean the LGBT? Of course, they are everywhere in Atlanta. You should know that. Hold up! Why do you feel that way? You've been adamant about it ever since you joined the show. What do you think is stopping you?
HADRIAN ALI: Just curious. I feel like I might lose some people.
MORGAN DAVIS: You mean the homophobic ones? You might lose some, but who gives a fu-*beep*, you are still gaining some either way. What do you plan to accomplish out of this?
HADRIAN ALI: Just being able to market myself without actually needing Jasmine for it. It’s nice that she’s helpin out, but I know that she wants to do other things. I ain’t wife her up yet, so she feels like she’s in this cage, trying to break out, and on the other hand, I’m guessin she uses me as a way to keep herself proactive.
MORGAN DAVIS: You feel like you aren’t confident in yourself enough to build your brand on your own?
HADRIAN ALI: Huh? What you mean?
MORGAN DAVIS: You are relying too much on her to make up for something you lack. You gotta be honest with yourself and your brand. All of that positive kumbaya talk, and I ain't never heard about you and what it took to get to where you are, and what this business means to you. Granted, I've only known you for a year, and people shouldn't be sharing their personal business after knowing each other for that long, but with years of experience, you should feel complete with your brand by now.
HADRIAN ALI: Well, damn.
MORGAN DAVIS: So I’ll ask you this. What do you want in life?
HADRIAN ALI: To be a fitness guru with my own gym.
MORGAN DAVIS: Okay, why do you want your own gym? I know you want to encourage others, but what about you? What does this mean to you?
HADRIAN ALI: Uh….
MORGAN DAVIS: Now ni-*beeps*, you takin too long with that answer. It should be quick.
HADRIAN ALI: I don’t know, Mo.
MORGAN DAVIS: Okay, that’s fine. You just gotta figure that out on your own. You trying to expand by reaching out to the LGBT community is worth a start. They are some great supporters of something that supports them.
HADRIAN ALI: Yeah, it is. It’s worth the start.
MORGAN DAVIS: Oh…..Yes, it is. Well, I wish I could talk more, but I gotta date with Cayo tonight, and I need to get some work done for GZWA.
HADRIAN ALI: A date? Yall still at that stage?
MORGAN DAVIS: Yes, Hadi. Don’t test our patience, ni-*beep*! We got ours under control.
Hadi laughs.
MORGAN DAVIS: Well, I got to go. I’ll see you at the regular time next week.
HADRIAN ALI: Aight, cool.
MORGAN DAVIS: Just remember, Hadi. Get to know yourself, before you know your business, hun. Look at your past and present for a sec, before you invest your future.
HADRIAN ALI: Aight, I guess. I’ll see you later.
MORGAN DAVIS: Okay, lata!
HADRIAN ALI: Peace.
The scene ends with Hadi hanging up the call.
