THE MERCEDES SHOW
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: MIL called and said they needed me to host a little kick off special for season 2 of NY, of course I couldnāt turn the offer down because just like everyone else I'm anxiously waiting for the new season to air, I heard it was going to be good.
Mercedes smirks.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: Iām practicing Covid safety rules and even though Iām vaccinated I still want to play it safe for me and everyone around me so today's show will not have an audience but everyone at home watching can still enjoy the experience by simply tuning in and watching the shade. Tonight Iāll be joined by Amonte and AāLeah Jordan, Amaya Cole and Keon Camp and trust me tonight Iāll be asking all the questions the fans want to hear.
The scene cuts to the opening credits of the Mercedes show and the scene cuts back to Mercedes who is joined by the cast of NY already sitting down. Mercedes is shown sitting in her main chair while the cast sits down on the couch beside her.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: Iām so happy you guys are here, and thank you for flying to LA I know with everything going on traveling can be a hassle.
AMONTE JORDAN: Oh it doesnāt bother me, I love LA and I love traveling so any excuse to hop on a plane here is good in my book.
KEON CAMP: Iāve wanted to meet you for the longest time and I remember when we met at the MIL Luncheon, you were so sweet and welcoming so I said if I go on any show it would be yours.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: I appreciate that.
AMAYA COLE: I feel the same way, thank you for having us.
AāLEAH JORDAN: Yes, thank you.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: I know you guys are excited about season 2 which airs next week on MIL, how does it feel?
AMAYA COLE: When we first signed onto the show we really didnāt know what we were getting ourselves into. I literally went and watched some of the other franchises and instantly got nervous.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: When I heard you were signing on I was nervous for you too. You are a well respected lawyer in New York and we all heard about the reality tv curse.
AMAYA COLE: I wasnāt worried about a reality tv curse, I just didnāt want to get involved in any drama or make my clients think differently about me, I think I did a really good job with staying out of trouble in the first season.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: First season you were a main cast member but now youāve signed on as a friend of the show, why the change?
AMAYA COLE: Honestly my schedule didnāt allow me to commit full time, I almost didnāt make the Greece trip. But I think you see me enough this season!
AMONTE JORDAN: We need Amaya on the show, sheās our voice of reason.
Both Amonte and Amaya laugh.
AMAYA COLE: I try to be but you fools still donāt listen.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: Where is Blaze? Will he be on this season?
AMAYA COLE: Unfortunately no, reality tv wasnāt something Blaze wanted to do. He appreciated the opportunity but after he got out of prison, he wanted his life to be private so he could get back on his feet and be more involved in his son's life.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: Makes sense, well give him my love.
Amaya nods.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: But I did see you guys have some new people on the show.
Amonte rolls his eyes.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: How did the newbies do? Weāre they a good fit for the show?
AMONTE JORDAN: Nope.
KEON CAMP: I think some more than others, but I wonāt say any names because Iām tired of being in online battles. I think once people watch the show then theyāll know exactly who Iām talking about.
AMAYA COLE: I really didnāt get a lot of time around the new guys so I canāt really say whether they were a fit or not. But my interactions with them were always pleasant.
AMONTE JORDAN: Always wanna play the nice girl.
AMAYA COLE: Thereās nothing wrong with being nice, Monte, settle down.
AMONTE JORDAN: Yeah! Yeah!
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: I think with the exit of Zuma, Blaze, and Gypan it was needed to add some new blood to cast just to spice it up a bit.
AāLEAH JORDAN: I think so too, the only problem I had with the situation is the people who were brought onto the show and who introduced them.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: Theyāre friends of Todrick and Austin, correct?
Leah nods.
AāLEAH JORDAN: I think one of them are close friends with them and look donāt get me wrong the people on this cast can be friends with whoever they choose, but I think because they are friends, Iām sure the newbies were feds information that wasnāt nice about us so it probably gave them the wrong impression.
AMONTE JORDAN: I agree, but Iāve hung out with Silas a few times and heās always been nice to me.
KEON CAMP: For now.
Keon rolls his eyes.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: Oop I sense a little shade there Keon.
KEON CAMP: Itās no shade, but Iām the type of person thatās like āno new friendsā . I rarely make them because Iāve been wronged by so many people so Iām only saying keep your guard up and watch who you let into your life.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: Oh I know, my circle of friends is small.
AMONTE JORDAN: I just donāt want the opps or anyone with bad energy in my circle.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: I know you two are thick as thieves, I mean best friends, ride or die.
Mercedes points at Amonte and Keon.
KEON CAMP: Thatās my rollie, heās literally been one of the best things thatās happened in my life.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: Thatās sweet to say.
AMONTE JORDAN: We have our ups and downs but we know everything about each other, we can fight one day and be friends the next because we own up to our wrongs and acknowledge them.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: Thatās the mature way.
AMAYA COLE: I will say one thing about those two is they will always stick together no matter what.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: As friends should, look, we all experience changes whether itās with ourselves or someone else. Itās called growth, I respect the fact you two can own up to stuff youāve done to each other but still continue having a tight bond, I love that.
KEON CAMP: Thank you.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: Now letās get into the tea, I will admit I do enjoy Miles' little podcast show and I know heās been spilling tea on all of you guys.
AMONTE JORDAN: Itās all lies.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: He is a blogger, so I understand that some of his stories are fabricated and false but hereās the perfect opportunity to address it all.
AMAYA COLE: Oh boy.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: Keon baby, Miles is out here saying your sleeping with Yeshua Banner, now I personally know Riche Rich and he has been in my home and I know Yeshua too, so I need to know what is going on because it looks like you two are in a full blown relationship and showing it off to the world like that man is not married.
Keon takes a deep breath, he knew the question was going to come up and even though he didnāt want to entertain it, he respected Mercedes enough to speak lightly on it.
KEON CAMP: Miles doesnāt know what the hell heās talking about and thatās why I donāt entertain the shit that comes out of his mouth. He can be so disrespectful it baffles me that MIL continues to allow him do that stupid podcasts, most of the stuff he talks about on that show is bunch of lies.
AāLEAH JORDAN: Heās desperate for attention and ratings.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: I get all that but I need you to answer the question baby.
KEON CAMP: I donāt mind answering the question, yes Yeshua is married but he is currently separated, I donāt know why people are making a big deal about this when hundreds of people do it everyday. From my understanding itās Richie Rich thatās holding up the process of the divorce not Yeshua so Iām going to continue living my life. I havenāt been this happy in a long time so I donāt know why people canāt be happy for me.
AMAYA COLE: It doesnāt look right and Keon knows my feelings about it, all because I was once involved with someone who I thought was single but ended up being married.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: Oh wow, how did you find out and what happened after you found out?
AMAYA COLE: I take my reputation seriously so I ended that situation quickly. But his wife called my phone one day and we had a grown woman conversation, I actually helped her divorce him.
Mercedes snaps her fingers and high fives Amaya.
AMAYA COLE: I donāt play any games.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: My type of girl.
KEON CAMP: Well I donāt really care how it looks to anyone because thereās a lot of people in this group in fake relationships, mine is real.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: Own it boo, but you are coming off aggressive right now.
KEON CAMP: I just get irritated when it comes to that topic, let me live please, the way I look at it, if it doesn't work out then I take it as a lesson learned and move on.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: I hope it goes the way you want it to go boo, but remember to protect your heart because that is whatās important.
Keon nods.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: Amonte boo, your name has been ringing bells too.
AMONTE JORDAN: It always does.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: First how are you? I know earlier this year you were involved in a domestic abuse incident that caused you some trauma.
Amonte nods, you can tell he wants to get emotional but he holds back from giving Cadence that satisfaction.
AMONTE JORDAN: A lot of trauma because it was something Iāve never experienced in my life. Cadence and I had our issues and we argued a lot but for it to get physical was something new and I was told once someone who loves you put their hands on you, take that first hit and get the hell away and thatās what I did.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: So you guys never got physical before the Uber incident?
AMONTE JORDAN: Nope, never! It just really hurt me that he even took it that far because I did so much for him, I basically found him off the street and gave him a life.
AāLEAH JORDAN: Heās a bum, he was homeless and a drug addict, he still is.
AāLeah shrugs.
AāLEAH JORDAN: A freaking bum.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: Amaya you're handling the case against Cadence, how does that work with you all being on the show and being friends?
AMAYA COLE: It works just like any other client I would handle, this incident happened before we started filming and even though I know Cadence, we arenāt friends. Business is business and I was sought out and hired to do a job.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: What are you looking to get out of this lawsuit against Cadence?
AMONTE JORDAN: Accountability and maybe an apology, I donāt think I would have sued him if he would have apologized but he didnāt, instead he sat with Tabor and Austin and made jokes about the situation.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: Arenāt you suing them also?
AMONTE JORDAN: No, I had Amaya draw up a cease and desist and send them over, both of them do a lot of lying on social media so I just needed to remind them that I can buy both of their lives and that they should keep my name and business out of their broken mouths.
AāLEAH JORDAN: They some bums too.
Amaya shakes her head.
AMAYA COLE: Lord!
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: Iām guessing we wonāt see you two interact on the show?
AMONTE JORDAN: Nope, itās court ordered for him to stay away from me, I wonāt see him until the reunion and we both had to go to court just to approve that.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: What? The reunion?
AMONTE JORDAN: Yup, because itās court ordered that he canāt be in the same room or around me so we wouldnāt have been able to film the reunion with him there, me being nice so he can get a check because we all know he needs one.
AāLEAH JORDAN: Desperately needs one.
AMONTE JORDAN: I decided to get it approved that he can attend the reunion for that day only and security would have to be there.
AMAYA COLE: I got that done for him.
Amaya pats herself on the shoulder.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: Do you see you two ever being cordial or maybe friends?
AMONTE JORDAN: That chapter is closed in my life, I wish him well.
AāLEAH JORDAN: Hopefully he takes a bath and has a home to take one in.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: Girl, I feel like you're the most hated cast member, seems like you get into with everyone.
AāLeah laughs.
AāLEAH JORDAN: I canāt help it, I speak the truth and Iām very blunt when it comes to my words.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: Sometimes you're just plain mean, thatās just my opinion.
AāLEAH JORDAN: I can see how my words might offend or make people mad but look weāre all adults here right, If you can dish it then you should be able to take it.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: Miles reported that you quit the show during taping, rumors were circulating that you were dealing with some personal issues now I know what the issues were but I want to allow you the opportunity to tell me and the world what happened.
AāLEAH JORDAN: Miles just doesn't know when to keep his big mouth shut, I donāt want to give too much away from the show but yes I dealt with some personal issues during filming and I needed a break. What I went through is more important than sitting on a show arguing with people who donāt mean anything to me.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: So we will find out what happens on the show?
AāLEAH JORDAN: Unlike other people on the show I show my real authentic life. I don't need to fake it to make it on this show, when season two was green lit, trust the Jordanās were the first ones that the producers reached out to to sign back onto the show.
AMONTE JORDAN: The real fan favorites.
KEON CAMP: Itās true though.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: Fan favorite huh?
AMONTE JORDAN: Yes, it hurts others, they canāt get the same respect. Iām booked, busy and paid!
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: Thereās nothing wrong with that. Now I know Keon and Amonte will show some of their love life on the show, but what about you AāLeah and Amaya?
AāLeah blushes and Amaya just gives off a small giggle.
AMAYA COLE: I am single, I was entertaining this guy but our schedules didnāt work out. But Iām open to dating, I just need to find the time.
AāLEAH JORDAN: Iāve been dating my guy Malik for a few months now, almost a year to be exact. Heās everything I asked and looked for in a guy and Iām really happy. Even after everything that happened personally with me, he was an angel and very supportive and for that Iāll always appreciate and love him.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: Aw he sounds like the perfect guy.
AāLEAH JORDAN: I wouldnāt say perfect but heās good enough for me.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: How do you feel about him Amonte?
AMONTE JORDAN: Heās great! I get along with him very well and he treats my sister well.
Mercedes smiles.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: Iām really excited to see you guys this season, regardless of what the blogs say whether true or not I think you guys did a great job in the first season so I know the second one will be even better.
AMAYA COLE: This season is lit, especially the trip to Greece. The beginning was kind of crazy but we all had a wonderful time.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: Before we close it out, Amonte I have to bring the heat back to you, well you and your sister.
Amonte sits there annoyed, he already knows what Mercedes is going to ask him so he just prepares himself for what heās about to say.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: There has been some allegations towards your family regarding embezzlement and wire fraud and -
Amonte interrupts.
AMONTE JORDAN: I already said I wasnāt going to talk about that, that has nothing to do with NY and the show.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: But wait a minute Amonte, you didnāt give me a chance to finish the question.
AMONTE JORDAN: Because thereās no point to finish an ignorant question like that, you and I both know the blogs and these messy gossipers will say anything to bring attention to themselves or their show but I looked at you differently, I respected you more because youāve been a victim of false accusations so why turn around and ask me a question that you know could possibly harm my reputation.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: I just wanted to give you a chance to put the rumors to rest, I didnāt intend to disrespect you or make you uncomfortable. You could have simply said you didnāt want to answer the question and I would have respected your answer and left it alone.
AMONTE JORDAN: Well leave it alone.
Amaya interrupts because she could sense Amonte getting angry.
AMAYA COLE: I think also Alicia if I may, even if something was going on Iām sure legally he canāt speak about it. Just like the incident with Cadence, we canāt really say too much about it because of the seriousness of the case.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: I understand that, but understand that Iām not a messy blogger, my accolades are bigger and longer than the hair on Amonteās head. I said if he would have allowed me to finish the question and statement I was trying to make then all of this wouldnāt have happened.
AMONTE JORDAN: I just feel like everyone is coming for me and I donāt understand why. I donāt bother anyone and Iām over here doing my own thing, I have a successful eyewear line, I do modeling on the side, Iām happy in a secure and loving relationship but for whatever reason the opps on the other side want to try and tear me down.
AāLEAH JORDAN: Itās a lot of people out here jealous of The Jordanās.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: Well I'm not one of them, I want to see everyone win.
AMONTE JORDAN: Youāll see a lot of jealousy air out this season in NY.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: Bring it on baby, Iāll have my popcorn ready.
KEON CAMP: You donāt want to miss this season at all.
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: I appreciate you guys sitting down with me and you the audience can watch them and the rest of the cast of NY on October 2nd at 8PM on MIL.
AMONTE JORDAN: Yāall better tune in.
AMAYA COLE: Yes watch! Set your DVR
ALICIA āMERCEDESā MATTHEWS: And I want to thank everyone for tuning in to the Mercedes Show and the kick off special for #theLifeNYš until next time, be safe yāall.
The scene fades.
